Silverstone Composites is an advocate of the Work Experience Programme. We provide young people, who have the relevant skill set and importantly work ethic, the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge and experience of the composite manufacturing industry, at a basic level.
Who can apply?
This programme is for students in the later years of full-time secondary, sixth form or college education, at the time of the work experience commencing, and who are keen to get an introduction into what a career in the composites manufacturing sector looks like. Please note that for insurance purposes the minimum age for a work experience placement with us is 14 years.
To be considered for the programme, you will:
Be keen and motivated to find out more about Silverstone Composites and be prepared to attend a factory tour and submit a CV or Personal Statement. We will also conduct interviews for these placements, as this provides students with an opportunity to acquire interview experience, and to ascertain if the placement will work for both parties. If successful at interview a week’s work experience placement will be offered.
How many placements available?
We have six placements available annually, which we will aim to schedule during the school summer holidays and a school half term holiday. Any additional placements are at the sole discretion of Silverstone Composites. Applications open annually from 1st October to 31st Jan of the following year. Silverstone Composites reserves the right to close the deadline for applications early if oversubscribed. Please note that due to the demand for places applications will not be accepted outside of this time period.
